Illinois Environmental Council Holding Two Springfield Events in April

This month the Illinois Environmental Council is holding a mini-lobby day and a climate rally in Springfield. There is still time to register for both of these policy activism events. See below for event and registration info from the IEC’s news webpage:

IEC Action Days

The Illinois Environmental Council is hosting two Springfield events this year!

On April 7, we’ll hold a smaller lobby day of less than 100 people who would like to have more in depth conversations with their legislators on a variety of energy, conservation and budget issues. There will be a reception and training on April 6 that will be mandatory to attend this lobby day. Register here for more information and we’ll connect you with hotel rooms and travel information. A limited number of scholarships are available for students and young professionals for this event.

On April 21, the day before Earth Day, we’ll be holding an Earth Day of Action and Climate Rally outside (or inside, depending on the weather) the Capitol Building in Springfield. This is a critical day for the environmental community’s agenda in Springfield, and this year is particularly important because of the clean energy and climate change issues being considered by state legislators. We hope to have hundreds of supporters out to support clean energy. We have buses leaving from the Chicago Loop, several South Side locations, Schaumburg, Naperville, Oak Park, Waukegan and Champaign.
