Looking for a fun and interesting way to keep the Great Lakes looking great? If so take the time to check out the Great Lakes Action Days (GLAD)!
Hosted by the Shedd Aquarium, GLAD is focused on taking volunteers onto Chicagoland beaches to help restore natural habitat, clean beaches, and educate on the preservation of the Great Lakes. GLAD heads out every first, third, and fourth Friday of the month and hosts the event at various beaches. This Friday, September 27th the group will be meeting at the 63rd Street Beach located at 6300 S. Lakeshore Drive. Every event is completely FREE and all supplies are provided by the Shedd Aquarium. October will be the final month that GLAD events take place until the spring, so if the opportunity arises take the time to help the great lakes and have fun while doing so.
