The Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation presents the annual Mansfield Lecture featuring Dorothy Roberts on The New Biopolitics of Race, Crime and Justice. Please join us on this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in the Murray Green Library, 10th floor, Roosevelt University’s Auditorium Building (430 S. Michigan Ave).
An acclaimed scholar of race, gender and the law and Professor of Law and Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, she is the author of Fatal Invention: How Science, Politics, and Big Business Re-Create Race in the 21st Century. She will speak to the criminal (in)justice implications of the new racial science, the biopolitics of race, specifically the dangers of the new racial science that is reviving the myth of biological races.
