350.org Climate Change Event in Rockford (Feb 16)

Rockford area-based members of the climate change-focused organization 350.org are organizing a local alternative gathering here in north-central IL next weekend. Here are the details . . .

On February 17th, 350.org will be holding a massive demonstration in Washington DC to demand that the president addresses the most critical issue of our lifetime — climate change.

Many of us in the greater Rockford area want to support this event, but choose not to use the fossil fuels to travel out East, so we are holding our own solidarity event.  There will be great music, poetry, and the straight facts!

Please join us on Saturday, February 16th, 2013 at 7pm
(note, the day BEFORE the National event)

Just Goods Listening Room, 201 7th Street, Rockford

David Stocker, Ron Holm and Christopher Sims perform music and poetry as participants mobilize to create a movement right here in Rockford, IL, to help change our trajectory toward a path of a sustainable future.
