At 7pm Thursday, March 22, the Oak Park Conservatory (615 Garfield Steet in Oak Park) hosts a local food forum.
Dear Local, Sustainable Food Lovers:
Now that it is sunny and 70 degrees outside, we are inviting you to attend a community forum that will address one of the key strategies within the FOOD area of the Environmental Sustainability Plan for Oak Park and River Forest – which is the development of a community food center/learning farm within our two communities. This strategy was raised several times during the community input phase of PlanItGreen’s plan development process as a project of great interest within the two communities.
The Community Food Center/Learning Garden Forum will take place on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 7:00pm-8:30pm at the Oak Park Conservatory (615 Garfield Street, Oak Park).
The meeting format will include a few brief presentations on project ideas from members of the community, to be followed by a discussion of these ideas and other concepts that you bring to the meeting. A key outcome of the meeting will be to organize working groups that in subsequent meetings will begin to develop action steps and timelines for project implementation.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you.
