Tomorrow at 1pm, the Chicago Center for Green Technology (445 N. Sacramento) presents Sylvia Juzwa from Remake Architecture speaking on “Designing Out Waste: A Designer’s Guide to Reducing Waste in Construction.”
Designers are the key to the ultimate tonnage of waste produced on a construction site. Waste minimization can reduce environmental impacts while saving both time on site and money in construction and waste removal. The five key principles that will be discussed to reduce waste are: Reuse and Recovery; Off Site Construction; Materials Optimization; Waste Efficient Procurement; and Deconstruction and Flexibility.
