Chicago Wilderness Congress is Nov 15

Next Thursday, Nov. 15th, the University of Illinois at Chicago will host the 2012 Chicago Wilderness Congress, which brings together representatives of the alliance’s 260 member organizations along with students, educators, volunteers, community partners, and interested members of the public in a dynamic exchange of ideas, success stories, and lessons learned.

SUST professor Mike Bryson and two of his undergraduate students, Conor Swenson and Katrina Wiecek, will make a formal presentation on the community-based sustainability asset research they did in the spring 2012 honors section  of SUST 210 Sustainable Future. Their talk is part of a research-oriented forum entitled “Biodiversity, Conservation, and Sustainability: Understanding the Chicago Region’s Natural and Human Assets.”

The Congress will take place November 15 at the University of Illinois at Chicago Forum (725 W. Roosevelt Rd) and include sessions with over 100 presenters. Click here to learn more and register. Discounted registration is available for students, and this is a great opportunity to learn from and network with a wide range of environmental and conservation professionals from throughout the Chicago region.
